Local MP Bill Wiggin is supporting the Conservative Party’s plans to expand high speed broadband services across the country. Under proposals put forward by the Conservative Party, residents and businesses could be receiving speeds of up to 100 megabits per second (Mbps) by 2017, also bringing benefits to rural communities which currently miss out. Bill Wiggin, who has been questioning the Government about broadband in Parliament and is campaigning for better broadband services, said:

“Herefordshire has been left behind and ignored by Labour on broadband services. Answers I have received in parliament have revealed that Labour Ministers cannot even give an estimate of current broadband coverage in the County.

“This is yet another example of the Labour Party treating Herefordshire like a poor relation. It is vital for local businesses that they can get connected to the fastest internet speeds available and only the Conservative Party has put forward the proposals to make this happen.”
