North Herefordshire MP Bill Wiggin has secured agreement from Network Rail and Arriva that new access provisions for disabled commuters at Leominster station will be in place next year. Bill, who has fought a long standing campaign and held a meeting on site with Network Rail as recently as March, commented:

“I welcome the news that local commuters will at last be getting the improvements needed to help disabled commuters, as well as those with pushchairs and heavy luggage, use the railway network. In recent months there had been some concern that the work would not be completed until 2012. But I am pleased that following representations, Network Rail have recognised the importance of getting on with making these necessary changes as soon as possible.”
