Local MP Bill is encouraging schools in North Herefordshire to join the ‘Get Set’ Network and secure their allocation of Olympic tickets before time runs out.
Earlier this year LOCOG announced that participating schools, colleges and local authority education providers would receive 100,000 free tickets between them to a range of Olympic and Paralympic events.
The application process is simple and costs nothing. All schools need to do is register on the Get Set website (london2012.com/getset) and complete the enclosed form, setting out what special or out-of-the ordinary activities they will be doing in connection with the Games.
The deadline for applications is Friday 16 December 2011.
Bill has commented, ‘Get Set is a fantastic initiative combining a winning spirit with impressive practical benefits.
At home the scheme aims to enhance young people’s learning experience whilst supporting the development of wider leadership, personal, thinking and life skills.
100,000 highly sought-after tickets will also be awarded to participating schools.
For children across Herefordshire this really is a one in a lifetime opportunity, enabling them to experience all the drama and excitement of London 2012 first hand and for free.
The deadline for applications is approaching fast. Please don’t be the ones to miss out.’
