Bill Wiggin MP will be holding a Future for our Railways discussion on Saturday 17th March at 11am at Ledbury Railway Station.
The meeting which will be held at the unique Ledbury Station ticket office to enable various stakeholders from North Herefordshire to discuss their views on the future of rail services in the County.
Bill Wiggin MP commented:
‘The consultation on the new Rail Franchise gives me the opportunity to discuss with constituents, passengers, the County Council and other interested groups what we need to ask for in our submission to the Department for Transport. This is our chance to say what improvements and changes we want to see delivered by the new Rail Franchise, which is set to be renewed in 2013.’
‘We will be looking at the regions demands, how to improve overall passenger experiences and whether it might be possible to re-open stations that have been closed in the past. We will also be discussing how a more frequent service can bring improvements across Herefordshire for all.
Ledbury Station Ticket Office is a unique place and I look forward to hearing from our County’s rail experts and any others who wish to join us.”
Bill is the Government Whip for the Department for Transport and the meeting will provide the opportunity for stakeholders to play a key role in shaping rail policy in Herefordshire.
