Bill has met with residents of Brimfield to discuss recent flooding in and around the area. Amongst others he was joined by Upton Ward councillor John Stone and Peter Clements, founder of the local Flood Protection Group.
Commenting afterwards he explained,
‘People do not always appreciate the full impact of an event like this. Having your property flooded, with so many unforeseen and unreported after-effects, is not only financially destabilising but emotionally devastating.
The aim of this meeting is to get heads together, help those directly affected and focus on long-term solutions.
It is never possible to turn back time. But by looking carefully at what went wrong, and asking the right questions, I am confident that we can take something positive from this terrible experience.’
