On 26 November Bill raised the problem of flooding with fellow MPs, urging a full investigation into maintenance issues.
He also enquired about the Bellwin thresholds for compensation and whether these would be disadvantageous to smaller counties like Herefordshire.
The Secretary of State agreed to meet Bill and discuss the matter.
Speaking in full he asked the Rt Hon Owen Paterson MP:
‘Will my right hon. Friend carry out a full investigation into why maintenance is not always done properly, as that causes most of the flooding in my constituency? Will he also ensure that the Bellwin thresholds work for small county councils as well as for large ones?’
