Bill Wiggin MP has welcomed a fall in North Herefordshire’s unemployment rate.

The number of unemployed claimants in North Herefordshire, Bill Wiggin MP’s constituency, in September 2013 was 906. This figure represents a fall of 76 from August 2013 and a fall of 165 compared with September 2012.

Bill Wiggin MP said: “I am very pleased to see such a huge fall in unemployment in my constituency, especially when the numbers are compared with last years.

“This is fantastic news for North Herefordshire and my constituents.”

September’s unemployment figure represents a rate of 2.2% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 516th of the 650 UK constituencies. (1st = highest rate of unemployment, 650th = lowest rate of unemployment.)
