Bill Wiggin MP is calling on Herefordshire Council to ensure their roads are fit for purpose.
Last week Mr Wiggin visited several roads in Shobdon Parish and Frome ward where road surfaces have deteriorated significantly with potholes and erosion endemic.
Bill Wiggin MP said: “The condition of roads in North Herefordshire is getting worse week by week. These potholes and cracks are putting both cyclists and drivers in serious danger as road users take evasive action to avoid potholes occasionally drifting into other lanes of traffic.
“I have held meetings with local councillors on this matter and have now also written to the Chief Executive of Herefordshire Council and the Secretary of State for Transport to ensure the appropriate funding is in place.”
In July Herefordshire Council announced that Balfour Beatty Living Places had won the contract to maintain the county’s highways from September.
