Bill Wiggin MP for North Herefordshire this week congratulated Mordiford CofE Primary School on securing Academy status.

In a letter Bill Wiggin MP received from Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, Secretary of State for Education, it was confirmed that as of 1 December Mordiford CofE Primary School has entered into an agreement with the Government to become an Academy.

Bill Wiggin MP said: “I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to all at Mordiford CofE Primary School, especially all of those who were involved in the conversion process to Academy status.

“This is a fantastic Conservative policy that is delivering real benefits in North Herefordshire, where Mordiford has become the 14th school to become an Academy.

“Academy status offers schools greater control over their budget, staffing and their curriculum – giving teachers and headteachers the freedom to improve their schools for the benefit of all.

“I offer Mordiford CofE Primary School my congratulations and I wish them all the very best for the future.”
