Bill Wiggin MP welcomed yet another fall in North Herefordshire’s unemployment rate before Christmas.

The number of unemployed claimants in Bill Wiggin MPs’ North Herefordshire, constituency, in November 2013 was 786 – representing a fall of 23 from October 2013 and of 227 compared with November 2012.

Bill Wiggin MP said: “This is a fantastic Christmas present for my constituency and my constituents. Around the festive season there is always a strain on family budgets so the more people who are in work earning a living the better.

“Unemployment figures have now fallen in North Herefordshire consecutively for three months. In November 2013 there are 196 less people unemployed than in August 2013.

“While the economy slowly recovers I am pleased to see month on month evidence in our unemployment figures that North Herefordshire is still open for business.”

November’s unemployment figure represents a rate of 1.9% of the economically active population aged 16 to 64, the 535th of the 650 UK constituencies. (1st = highest rate of unemployment, 650th = lowest rate of unemployment.)
