Bill Wiggin MP attended a special service for those former MPs killed in WW1.
Bill Wiggin MP for North Herefordshire paid tribute to former Ross, Herefordshire MP Lieutenant Colonel PA Clive at the service on Wednesday 5 November in the Chapel of St Mary Undercroft at the House of Commons.
Bill Wiggin MP said: “Yesterday we remembered and paid our respects to our fellow MPs who lost their lives in service of our country during the First World War.
Lieutenant Colonel Clive not only served in our Armed Forces defending our country, he was also an MP for Herefordshire.
I am very proud to have served as a TA Officer in both the Royal Welch Fusiliers and Westminster Dragoons and I know what brilliant people we have in our Armed Forces.
As MP for North Herefordshire I also understand the great privilege it is to represent this great county in Parliament as Lieutenant Colonel Clive did.”
Attendees at the service conducted by Rose Hudson-Wilkin at The Chapel of St Mary Undercroft included Mr Speaker, Vice Admiral Peter Wilkinson CB CVO, National President of the Royal British Legion, the Rt Hon Mark Francois MP, Minister of State for the Armed Forces, Anna Soubry MP, Minister of State for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans, and more than 20 MPs from all parties.
