Bill Wiggin MP is pleased the Government has confirmed an extra £3.5 million will be given to Herefordshire.
This week the Government has confirmed the New Homes Bonus allocation for Herefordshire will be in line with the provisional allocation of £3,591,382 in 2015/16. This includes an affordable homes premium of £43,400.
Bill Wiggin MP said: “I am delighted Herefordshire has been awarded these extra funds, particularly because we know the Council are free to spend the bonus however they choose.
The New Homes Bonus is a fantastic initiative from the Government to reward those local authorities which promote and welcome growth so they can share in the economic benefits, and build the communities in which people want to live and work.”
In total £1.167 billion was divided between English local authorities for the 2015-16 allocations of New Homes Bonus. Taken together with instalments from previous years, this takes the total amount of funding awarded under the New Homes Bonus to almost £3.4 billion.
