Bill Wiggin MP, for North Herefordshire, has today welcomed Welsh Water’s pledge for further extensive investment in the area, following the companies’ announcement of a strong half-year financial position.
The company’s key investment projects over the past six months – which are part of the company’s commitment to a record £1.7 billion investment in its network between 2015 and 2020 – include £15 million in north Herefordshire to provide customers with clean, fresh water for years to come by replacing or cleaning over 300 kilometres of pipe.
Commenting, Bill Wiggin MP said:
“These figures from Welsh Water are very encouraging and the service they provide to my constituents continues to be of the very highest standard.
The announcement of a £15 million investment in the water network in Herefordshire is most welcome, as is the seventh consecutive year of below-inflation rise in customer bills.
These results are a testament to their customer-based business model, and the pledge for an extensive investment program over the coming months is a huge boost for us all here in North Herefordshire.
I look forward to their continuing service for many years to come.”
